Day One – Friday, October 25

Meal: Dinner

8:00 am            Depart for Ft. Smith, AR with rest stops and meal break en route

6:30 pm            Check in to hotel

7:00 pm            Dinner at Taliano's, a beautiful historic home listed on the National Register.

Day Two – Saturday, October 26

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

7:00 am            Breakfast at the Hotel

7:30 am            Bags out

8:00 am            Travel to Dallas, TX

12:30 pm          Southfork Ranch Tour, Take a tram from 

                         the Visitors Center en route to the Ewing 

                         Mansion. You'll hear a history of the ranch, 

                         and see Texas longhorns and American 

                         quarter horses. The famed Ewing Mansion.

                         A guide will give interesting tidbits about 

                         the years of filming and insight into the 

                         character of the Ewings. Guests are given a

                         full guided tour of the "most famous White House west of D.C." Yes, even J.R.'s bedroom! Stroll 

                         through the ranch grounds, and stop and visit "Lincoln's and Longhorns," displaying Jock 

                         Ewing's original 1978 Lincoln Continental.  Lunch at Southfork Ranch

2:30 pm            Depart for Austin, TX

6:00 pm            Check into hotel

7:00 pm            Dinner – Green Pastures Restaurant (pending confirmation)

Day Three – Sunday, October 27

Meals: Breakfast

7:00 am            Breakfast at the Hotel

8:30 am            Travel to Johnson City, TX and visit the LBJ Historic Park and Ranch.  Here you will see the 

                         Birthplace, The Johnson Family Cemetery and The Family Home also known as the Texas 

                         White House

10:30 am          Travel to Fredericksburg, TX a small gem nestled in the Texas Hill Country for lunch and 

                         shopping on own. Enjoy eclectic shops, amazing restaurants and Texas wines.

4:30 pm            Depart for San Antonio, TX where you will spend the next three nights.

5:30 pm            After checking into the hotel, the evening is on your own.

Day Four – Monday, October 28

Meals: Breakfast & Dinner

  • After breakfast at the hotel you will depart for 1/2 day guided tour of the city.

9:00 am            Enjoy a Guided tour of San Antonio, travel to San Jose Mission, one of five Spanish missions 

                         here and referred to as Queen of the Texas Missions.  After touring this beautiful complex, you'll 

                         drive to the King William Historic District, the old German section of town, to view the beautiful 

                         Victorian homes built by wealthy merchants in the 1800's.  Last stop is San Fernando Cathedral,

                         dating back to the 1700's and one of the most beautiful Spanish Colonial buildings in the area. 

12:00 pm          Arrive at the Mexican Market for lunch and shopping on your own in this authentic Mexican Bazaar

2:00 pm            Visit the Alamo, a partially reconstructed Spanish Mission in the heart of the city and was the place

                         where 189 Texas patriots died in 1836, while defending their land against a greatly superior 

                         Mexican army led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna. The defenders included the famous

                         frontiersman Davy Crockett and colorful Texian knife fighter Jim Bowie. You can tour the small 

                         museum of historical artifacts located in the reconstructed chapel.

3:30 – 5:30       Free time on own to explore the River Walk.

5:30 pm            This evening you’ll take a Riverboat Ride along the

                         River Walk, a tour with entertaining narratives of the 

                         rich history of the San Antonio River and helpful 

                         information to assist you during your visit to the

                         River Walk.

6:30 pm            After a relaxing boat ride, a Mexican Dinner awaits 

                         you on the patio at Mexican Manhattan.  A Mariachi

                         band performs as you indulge in the Fajitas.

8:00 pm            Evening on own.

 

 

 

Day Five – Tuesday, October 29

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

10:30 am           Buckhorn Museum features wildlife from all over the world; including fish from the seven seas, 

                          animals from every continent and strange animal oddity which have been collected for over 100 

                          years! The exhibit halls are comprised of over 520 species of wildlife—many of which are 

                          record holders.

                          The Texas Ranger Museum houses hundreds of Texas Ranger artifacts including revolvers, 

                          automatic handguns, sawed off shotguns, badges, photographs and much more.

11:30 am           Lunch in the Buckhorn Cafe with Free time allowed to visit the Gift Shop and Saloon

                       

Free afternoon to explore on own.

 

 

 

Optional: Institute of Texas Culture - The 182,000-square-foot complex features 65,000 square feet of interactive exhibits and displays that tell the stories of Texans.

The Institute of Texan Cultures, through its research, collections, exhibits and programs, serves as the forum for the understanding and appreciation of Texas and Texans.

 

Botanical Garden: This 33-acre living museum entices visitors with seasonal floral displays, a serene native forest walk, exotic plant specimens from around the world, modernistic glass pyramids and even an authentic log cabin.

 

 

South Flores Arts District
Flores Street is emerging from its industrial past to play host to one of the more vibrant art districts in San Antonio. The neighborhood galleries present everything from traditional painting to contemporary intermedia installations.

 

 

 

Day Six- Wednesday, October 30

9:00 am            Depart for Texarkana, AR with rest stops and meal break en route

6:30 pm            Overnight accommodations

Tour Cost

Tour cost is based on a minimum number of paying passengers per coach. Should your group fall below the required minimum number of paying passengers, there could be an increase in the tour cost or the itinerary will be modified to accommodate the number of participants.

In the event that the participant can replace their seat on the tour, all monies will be fully refunded back to them. Cancellations must be received in writing. The above cancellation policy will be clearly defined for all participating individuals.

Travel Club offers a trip for everyone.  With the Bank of Cadiz Travel Club, you have the
opportunity to tour exciting destinations and do so with great savings.  In addition to the
